Changes to Exam Retake Rules Effective This Year

As of 2025, FINRA has not announced any changes to its exam retake policies. The current rules remain as follows:
๐ Current FINRA Exam Retake Policy
- After the first and second failed attempts: A 30-day waiting period is required before retaking the exam.
- After the third failed attempt and beyond: A 180-day waiting period is required between each subsequent attempt.
These waiting periods apply to all FINRA qualification exams, including the SIE, Series 6, 7, 24, 63, 65, and 66 .
