For all FINRA-administered examsβincluding the Series 6, 7, 24, 63, 65, and 66βyou should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early to your scheduled exam time. This ensures a smooth check-in process and avoids disqualification due to late arrival.
π Why You Should Arrive Early
- β ID verification and digital check-in take time
- β Security procedures include biometric scanning and locker storage
- β Late arrivals may result in loss of your exam slot and forfeiture of the exam fee
- β Arriving early gives you a few minutes to relax, focus, and breathe
π Prometric Testing Center Check-In Process
- Arrive 30 minutes early
- Present a valid, government-issued photo ID (must match your exam registration name exactly)
- Store all personal belongings in a secure locker (phones, watches, bags, food, etc.)
- Complete check-in: biometric scan, photo capture, rules acknowledgment
- Wait to be escorted to your testing station
β οΈ What Happens If You’re Late?

π Tip: Plan for Unexpected Delays
- Check the route and traffic ahead of time
- Bring two forms of ID just in case
- If testing online via remote proctoring, log in 30 minutes early to complete system checks
