Before sitting for the Series 66 exam, it’s essential to understand the rules and expectations enforced at official testing centers. Knowing what to expect can help you stay calm, avoid disqualification, and focus entirely on the exam content.
📝 Identification Requirements
You must present valid, unexpired, government-issued photo identification that matches the name used in your exam registration.
Accepted forms of ID include:
- Passport
- Driver’s license
- National ID card
- Military ID
The ID must include your full name, photo, and signature. Without it, you will not be admitted.
🎒 Personal Belongings Policy
Personal items are not allowed in the testing room. This includes:
- Bags, backpacks, purses
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, fitness trackers
- Notes, books, or study materials
- Hats, scarves, and bulky clothing (unless for religious reasons)
- Food or drink
You will be provided with a secure locker for your belongings.
⌚ Check-In Procedure
- Arrive at least 30 minutes early
- You will be required to sign in and may be photographed
- A palm vein scan or fingerprint may be required depending on the center
- You’ll be asked to turn out your pockets and roll up sleeves to ensure compliance
Late arrivals may be denied entry and forfeit their exam fee.

- You will be monitored via video and audio throughout the test
- A proctor may enter the room at any time
- Scratch paper and a basic calculator are typically provided
- Leaving the room without permission is prohibited
- Disruptive behavior or suspicious actions may result in immediate dismissal

- Attempting to remove test content (physically or digitally)
- Communicating with others during the exam
- Using unauthorized devices
